Point – Counterpoint

October 25, 2007 · Leave a Comment

When in England at a fairly large conference, Colin Powell was asked by the Archbishop of Canterbury if our plans for Iraq were just an example of ‘empire building’ by George Bush.

He answered by saying, “Over the years, the United States has sent many of its fine young men and women into great peril to fight for freedom beyond our borders. The only amount of land we have ever asked for in return is enough to bury those that did not return.”

It became very quiet in the room.

Then there was a conference in France where a number of international engineers were taking part, including French and American. During a break one of the French engineers came back into the room saying “Have you heard the latest dumb stunt Bush has done? He has sent an aircraft carrier to Indonesia to help the tsunami victims. What does he intended to do, bomb them?”

A Boeing engineer stood up and replied quietly: “Our carriers have three hospitals on board that can treat several hundred people; they are nuclear powered and can supply emergency electrical power to shore facilities; they have three cafeterias with the capacity to feed 3,000 people three meals a day, they can produce several thousand gallons of fresh water from sea water each day, and they carry half a dozen helicopters for use in transporting victims and injured to and from their flight deck.. We have eleven such ships; how many does France have?”

Once again, dead silence.

A U.S. Navy Admiral was attending a naval conference that included Admirals from the U.S., English, Canadian, Australian and French Navies. At a cocktail reception, he found himself standing with a large group of Officers that included personnel from most of those countries. Everyone was chatting away in English as they sipped their drinks but a French admiral suddenly complained that, ‘whereas Europeans learn many languages, Americans learn only English.’ He then asked, ‘Why is it that we always have to speak English in these conferences rather than speaking French?’

Without hesitating, the American Admiral replied ‘Maybe its because the Brits, Canadians, Aussies and Americans arranged it so you wouldn’t have to speak German.’

You could have heard a pin drop!

Zimbabwe’s millionaires worth only $1

October 21, 2007 · Leave a Comment

Zimbabwe’s currency has fallen to record levels, with one million Zimbabwean dollars buying a single US dollar (48p) and inflation reaching 8,000 per cent.

The bleak data was announced as people in the capital Harare struggled to cope without electricity for the third day. “We closed our business today,” said a woman who helps to run a major petrol supplier. “We just can’t operate like this.”

The National Blood Transfusion Services said that it had been unable to test blood since Tuesday. “We are in serious trouble,” said a doctor.

At independence in 1980, the Zimbabwean dollar held parity with the US dollar but the currency has suffered from the recent economic policies of President Mugabe; at the beginning of this year it was $Z2,800 to one US dollar and ten days ago $Z500,000.

President Mugabe has struggled to keep inflation under control and in July ordered businesses to halve their prices to alleviate the country’s woes. The order resulted in the arrest of about 10,000 business people as thousands of police officers raided companies, shopping malls and markets to take goods marked above price control levels. Now the supermarkets are bare and it is almost impossible to buy food.

Although the inflation rate slowed marginally in August it rose to 7,982 last month, according to official statistics, which are regarded as highly conservative. “It shows the lunacy of their belief they can legislate against inflation and bring it down at the barrel of a gun,” said Rob Davies, an economist.

Officials in Mr Mugabe’s ruling party reportedly expect him to sign a law that will force all foreign-owned companies, including local subsidiaries of Barclays and Standard Chartered, to sell 51 per cent of their equity to black Zimbabweans.

Open Letter to Governor Gibbons & All Nevada Legislators

October 18, 2007 · Leave a Comment

As long as the federal government refuses to do its job of protecting the borders, the State of Nevada must take action to deal with the problem that is costing Nevada taxpayers millions of dollars a year in public benefits, law enforcement costs, and other resources. You have a responsibility to protect Nevada taxpayers against that sort of egregious waste, fraud and abuse.

Oklahoma’s Governor Brad Henry has signed an immigration reform bill that deals with identity theft; it terminates public assistance benefits to illegals; it empowers State and local police to enforce federal immigration laws; and it punishes employers who knowingly hire illegal aliens. The bottom line is illegal aliens will not go to Oklahoma if there are no jobs waiting for them, they will not stay there if there is no government subsidy, and they certainly won’t stay there if they know that if they ever encounter State or local law enforcement officers, they will be physically detained until they’re deported.

Arizona passed a law making it a State crime to hire illegal aliens and requires all businesses to verify the employment eligibility of workers through a federal database. The penalty for violators is a 10-day suspension of their business license on the first offense and permanent revocation on the second. After a few businesses are closed, jobs will become very scarce for a majority of illegal aliens.

Open-border advocates say there’s no way to deport 12 million illegal aliens. Oklahoma and Arizona are showing that we don’t have to deport anyone. If these two States simply enforce their new laws, most illegals will leave on their own. In fact, it already is having its desired effect. The Arizona Republic reports that many illegals are simply packing up and going home to Mexico.

During World War II, the U.S. had a form of guest worker program – the “Bracero” program – that brought legal agricultural workers to the Southwest from Mexico to deal with the wartime labor shortage. By 1953, the system had deteriorated from a wartime necessity to a means of providing cheap labor.

In June and July of 1954, under President Eisenhower, a force of fewer than 800 INS agents caught and repatriated more than 50,000 illegal aliens in Arizona and California. The agency estimated at the time that more than 400,000 returned to Mexico on their own. That success was repeated from July to September, when more than 80,000 were arrested and some 500,000 “self-deported” themselves back to Mexico. So, it can be done.

When immigration enforcement gets tough, illegal aliens get going. I urge you to adopt a law in Nevada similar to Arizona’s.

New Legislation Signed in California by the Governator

October 17, 2007 · Leave a Comment

After the Ammunition Micro Stamping bill signed by Arnold Schwarzenegger and the lead ammo ban also signed last weekend, a lot of firearms owners in California were angered by their “Terminator” Governor.

In addition to the cartridge case micro-stamping law and the lead hunting ammunition ban (enacted ostensibly to protect California Condors), The Governator also recently signed two landmark pieces of pro-homosexual legislation.

As reported by WorldNetDaily, one of these new laws will allow cross-dressing or gender-confused school children to use whichever restroom or gym locker room they prefer on any given day. (The “Boys Room” and “Girls Room ” signs no longer have any meaning at California schools!)

Shame on Arnie for cozying up to the liberal Democrats on so many issues. I suspect that a little too much of his wife (who was the offspring of the Hyannis Port, Massachusetts Kennedy Clan) has rubbed off.

Vicente Fox admits that he and George W. Bush have ’agreed’ on common currency, North American Union

October 10, 2007 · 1 Comment

WEBWIRE – Wednesday, October 10, 2007

Los Angeles, CA (Oct. 10, 2007) — Speaking on the Larry King show, former Mexican President Vicente Fox confirmed every assertion made by Jerome Corsi in his new book, NY Times bestseller “The Late Great U.S.A: The Coming Merger with Mexico and Canada” (WND Books, ISBNs 0-9790451-4-2, $25.95, July 2007). Not only did Fox admit that he and George W. Bush have “agreed” to create a common currency, the Amero, he contended that a North American Union is “inevitable” That’s something that Jerry Corsi takes issue with while applauding Fox’s openness on national television.

“At last we have public confirmation of the pernicious secret activity that’s been going on towards merging Mexico, Canada and the United States” declares Corsi, whose book became a bestseller shortly after publication. “Personally, I’d like to thank Vincente Fox. His candor about this merger is what’s going to stop it dead in its tracks”

Corsi continues, “Fox’s appearance with Larry King and, of all places, on The Daily Show constitutes the first time a leader of Mexico, Canada or the U.S. has openly confirmed a plan to create a regional currency called the Amero — a plan I document in detail in ‘The Late Great U.S.A.’” Fox went on to explain how current regional trade agreements between the United States and its hopelessly corrupt neighbor to the south are intended to evolve into other previously hidden aspects of North American integration.

As reported in WorldNetDaily, Larry King, near the end of the broadcast, asked Fox a question e-mailed from a listener: “I would like to know how you feel about the possibility of having a Latin America united with one currency”

Fox answered in the affirmative, admitting he and George W. Bush had “agreed” to pursue the Free Trade Agreement of the Americas – a free-trade zone extending throughout the Western Hemisphere – and that part of the plan was to institute a regional currency from Canada to the tip of South America!

“Long term, very long term” he said. “What we proposed together, President Bush and myself, it’s ALCA, which is a trade union for all the Americas”

According to Corsi, Fox has indeed performed a public service. “George W. Bush is president of the United States, not king. He has utterly no right to enter into any such agreement with a foreign country, particularly a hostile one” During Fox’s tenure as Mexican president, millions of Mexicans entered the United States illegally. In Corsi’s view, this constitutes an invasion that has cost American taxpayers billions of dollars while destroying schools and bankrupting hospitals and municipal governments across the country…and is only a taste of what a merger would bring.

“Finally” says the author of “The Late Great U.S.A” “here is unequivocal proof, straight from the mouth of Mexico’s former president, that Bush’s goal is to erode United States sovereignty in order to create free movement for Mexico’s peasant class across our border, in the process flooding us with even more anchor babies and illiterates ready and willing to take advantage of our country’s all-too-generous welfare programs”

Mexico’s invasion of America can and must be stopped, but in order to do so, every citizen must rise up and demand an end to it. “George W. Bush has been bought lock, stock and barrel by the elite and multi-national corporations pushing for a merger with Mexico, but he has utterly no right under the Constitution to push for a merger of the U.S with Mexico or any other country”

Fox’s comments are part and parcel of Mexico’s ongoing campaign to destroy American sovereignty to its benefit. “Going by what Fox has said on national television, it’s clear that Mexico has declared war on the United States” Corsi asserts. “It’s the only way such words can be interpreted. Since Bush has no interest in protecting our interests, and since all too few legislators have stepped up to condemn a North American Union and shared currency, it’s up to we the people”

Thanks to Corsi’s book “The Late Great U.S.A” “more and more patriotic Americans are learning the truth about our ‘good neighbor’ to the south, the one George W. Bush can’t do enough for at the expense of every American’s future. In just two unguarded interviews, Vincente Fox has confirmed every aspect of the ugly future that I’ve laid out in “The Late Great U.S.A” It’s past time we put a stop to his dream – and George W. Bush’s”
