EMP Attack: Overlooked Catastrophe by Hal Lindsey

February 28, 2009 · Leave a Comment

When Iran successfully launched its first domestically made satellite into orbit on Feb. 1, U.S. State Department official Robert Wood said Iran’s activities could “possibly lead to the development of ballistic missiles” and were of “great concern.”

French Foreign Ministry spokesman Eric Chevallier said France was “very concerned” about the launch.

UK Foreign Office Minister Bill Rammell said the launch underlined the UK’s “serious concerns about Iran’s intentions.” Then they resumed their focus on their various economic implosions where “concerned” had been elevated to “alarmed.”

What continues to astonish me is how little Western nations seem to grasp the tremendous danger that Iran is signaling in plain view. I have produced at least two television shows and as many articles in which I sought to warn of Iran’s intention to use its rapidly developing nuclear warheads in an EMP attack against Israel, the EU and the U.S.

In an article I wrote for WorldNetDaily in July 2007, I noted a 1998 Iranian missile test that “failed, detonating some 40 seconds after launch after reaching an altitude of 180 miles. This is the approximate ideal altitude to detonate a nuclear warhead for an EMP attack on a country.”

I was astonished at how little attention Western military planners gave Iran’s successful satellite launch. What little attention it did get focused on the probability that Iran could use the satellite launch technology to build an ICBM.

Launching an EMP attack with rather simple nuclear bombs is far easier than developing long-range ballistic nuclear missiles for a direct attack. It is also considerably safer for the attacking country.

Caroline Glick noted recently in the Jerusalem Post that an “article published in Iran’s security journal Nashriyeh-e Siasi Nezami in 1999 identified an EMP attack as a way to defeat the U.S. as a military power and as a state.”

It is also worth noting that a nuclear weapon detonated 180 miles above the United States would generate an EMP pulse that experts say would instantly plunge half the country into the technological 1800s.

Now that Iran is capable of launching satellites, Tehran needn’t worry about developing ICBM capabilities. In the same Jerusalem Post article, Glick writes, “Three to five nuclear bombs of any size, launched into space on satellites and detonated above the U.S., Europe and Asia would send Western Civilization back to the 19th century.

It is simply astonishing that Western intelligence agencies are ignoring the threat posed by an Iranian satellite-launched EMP attack.

To put the most advanced nations on earth back technologically by a full century is the ultimate strategy. And Iran has signaled in plain language and actions that an EMP strike against the West is the most likely scenario. As noted above, Iran’s mullah’s have openly discussed the use of an EMP attack against the U.S.

An EMP attack by Iran on Israel, the U.S. and EU would overnight send the most technically developed nations on earth back to the middle of the 19th century. All our electrical grids would be destroyed. There would be no communications by satellite, TV, radios, telephones; no transportation as we know it, no water, no fuel, no electricity, no food, no stoves, no heat, no air-conditioning, no functioning hospitals, no elevators, no law and order, no computers, no banks, very little work force. In addition, there would be very few military weapons systems that would work.

In the light of this, we should immediately begin to make back-ups for our most essential infrastructure systems. We should shield as many critical electrical systems as possible as fast as we can.

At the same time, we should do whatever is necessary to stop Iran from getting nuclear bombs. Expensive? Yes! But not nearly as expensive as it will be after an EMP attack. I believe that if we don’t do something immediately, that attack will come.

I never thought I would say this, but just maybe this is the reason that in chapter 38 of Ezekiel he predicts that the armies that invade Israel in the last days are all riding horses. Could it be that Ezekiel’s prophecy is more literal than any of us dared to believe?

Those Pesky Montanans by Clayton Cramer

February 26, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Idaho has this reputation for being a bunch of anti-federal government crazies, but I don’t think that’s particularly deserved. I mentioned last February that Montana officials had warned the Supreme Court that Montana joined the Union on the understanding that the Second Amendment protected an individual right, and they might have to rethink that situation if the Court ruled wrongly on D.C. v. Heller (2008). Fortunately, the Court got it right, so there was no need for Montana to seize the Air Force missile silos there, and become the world’s lowest population and density nuclear power.

Anyway, it appears that the Montana legislature is preparing for the Obamination of restrictive federal gun control laws. From the February 23, 2009 Billings (Mont.) Gazette:

HELENA – Montana lawmakers are betting the words ‘Made in Montana’ might be able to trigger a court showdown with the federal government, while also freeing some gun owners and dealers from background check and licensing requirements.

Under a proposed law before the Legislature, firearms, weapons components and ammunition made in Montana and kept in Montana would be exempt from federal regulation, potentially releasing some Montanans from national gun registration and licensing laws. The legislation could also free gun purchasers in the state from background checks.

Still, the bill’s proponents say the measure has much bigger prey in its sights.

“Firearms are inextricably linked to the history and culture of Montana, and I’d like to support that,” said Republican Rep. Joel Boniek, the bill’s sponsor. “But I want to point out that the issue here is not about firearms. It’s about state rights.”

I understand that a lot of other states are mulling over declarations of state sovereignty as well. I have long thought that there was little chance of Civil War II being regional. Maybe I’m mistaken.

Adding to the amusement of this is that those who were upset about the Raich decision (and they were right to be upset, even if it was for a very stupid cause: marijuana) will have to admit that if California has the right to legalize marijuana that doesn’t move across state lines, free of federal intervention, then Montana has a similar right to tell the federal government that guns made in Montana are exempt from federal rules.

Clayton’s commentary on news and events of the day. Broadly speaking, Clayton says he is a conservative with libertarian sympathies (getting more conservative as his children get older).

The Gray Man vs The Citizen in the Coming Storm

February 26, 2009 · Leave a Comment

If the next few years go the way some are expecting, and the country moves in the direction of an authoritarian socialist state, the “Gray Man” will do some things his friends may not expect nor initially agree with.

The Gray Man will put a pro-government bumper sticker on his vehicle, in contrast with the beliefs in his heart.

The Gray Man will happily hand over his registered weapons while his cache of unregistered weapons is safely hidden away.

He’ll be first in line to receive his sub-dermal ID chip and then return home and remove it himself, treat and stitch the wound himself, wear long-sleeve shirts until the wound heals. He’ll carry the chip under his sleeve or inside his watch so as to blend in with society, until such time as he wishes not to be seen or tracked.

He’ll use his government issued credit card for regular purchases like groceries and gasoline. However, on the weekends he’ll leave it on his coffee table next to his ID chip, and he’ll take his silver coins and ammunition to the illegal farmer’s market for barter and open discussion.

He’ll go to the library and check out the books on the government’s suggested reading list and use them as examples to quietly teach his children what not to believe.

If one day he and his family should disappear, the authorities will check their databases. They’ll see that his car has not passed through any turnpike billing checkpoints. They’ll see that his credit card has not been used anywhere unusual. They’ll see via their satellite RFID map that all members of his family are still located in their home, and they are currently viewing government programs on their internet-television.

When they go to his home, they will see his vehicle is gone. Inside, they’ll find a small pile of ID chips sitting next to a government credit card and a RFID turnpike billing pass.

This Gray Man stands idly by as evil men corrupt this fine country.

The Citizen, on the other hand, works to preserve and protect the liberties that we now enjoy, in opposition to men and women who wish to do those liberties harm.

The Citizen knows the power of government is kept in check only by the citizenry-at-large. He is not afraid to oppose totalitarian policies, because he knows to remain silent will surely result loss of his rights.

He understands the Constitution and respects the ideals of the fore-fathers. He knows they didn’t hide at home when the call went out for help, and our great country was the result.

He participates in activities like The Appleseed Program where he can increase his skills and knowledge. He is the first to write / call / e-mail his elected representatives. He is the first to join with like-minded people in the NRA and other organizations, knowing those organizations are not perfect but that there is strength in numbers.

He not only teaches his children what is right, but he is an example to his friends, neighbors and religious congregants.

He is involved in leadership activities like Scouting, so he can help mold the youth of tomorrow and preserve great American traditions.

He takes a kid hunting who has no other way to experience a great American tradition. He helps out a neighbor woman with two kids whose husband is serving Afghanistan .

He is not boastful or full-of-himself, but is ready to support liberty with a well-thought-out and logical argument.

This does not mean the Citizen is not prepared. This does not mean the Citizen doesn’t keep his preparations under wraps and private. This does not mean the Citizen does not put the safety of his family first and foremost.

It is precisely because he cares for his family that he refuses to allow tyranny to become the law of the land.

The Citizen is not afraid to stand up and be counted against tyranny, as he knows that both he and Gray Man are “on the list.”

The Citizen, refuses to go quietly into that long, dark night. The Gray Man, on the other hand, will one day be hunted like a weasel in the wilderness: cold, wet and alone, with no way to challenge the tyrants.

The End Of Free Speech

February 25, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Are you all keeping up with Democrat efforts to shut down talk radio under the guise of The Fairness Doctrine?

Like all Marxist labels, this one conveys something it isn’t at all. Currently, the Mainstream Media is Leftist propaganda, with right wing talk radio providing the other point of view. Leftists have tried to mount their own talk radio shows but have failed miserably because – obviously – no one wants to listen to it.

Obama lashed out at Limbaugh – how dictatorial! – His minions are already planning hearings on shutting down the free speech which have allowed us to hear the information and analysis denied to us by those undeserving of the title “journalist.”

Funny, when it comes to pornography in libraries, the Left is all about free speech. But when it comes to political free speech, forget it. Your kids should be able to access porn, but you should not be able to access conservative commentary.

For a citizenry who witnessed the vicious slandering of Bush day in, day out, this is a little strange. Seeing a President throwing a temper tantrum about a specific US citizen whose opinion he disagrees with.

If You’re Packing, Flaunt It

February 25, 2009 · Leave a Comment

OPEN-CARRY DAYS: Fairbanks police chief says practice is legal.

FAIRBANKS — A Second Amendment rights group in Fairbanks is encouraging members to bring their guns out into the open.

Schaeffer Cox with the group Second Amendment Task Force is urging everyone to wear their guns during open-carry days this weekend and next. He expects about 500 people to participate.

“There’s a social stigma that only cops and robbers have guns,” Cox told the Fairbanks Daily News-Miner. “The truth is everybody is packing but nobody knows it because we keep it concealed.”

Fairbanks Police Chief Dan Hoffman doesn’t oppose the show of arms.

“There’s no law that prohibits a citizen in the state of Alaska from carrying an open, legal firearm,” Hoffman said. “It’s perfectly legal.”

Hoffman believes this is in reaction to the election of President Barack Obama, a Democrat.

“There’s a lot of fear and concern out there with the new presidential administration that gun ownership and Second Amendment rights are going to come under attack,” Hoffman said.

The Second Amendment Task Force was spawned from an “ongoing encroachment on the right to bear arms,” said the 24-year-old Cox, who unsuccessfully ran for the state Legislature last year. “It’s a general trend that has been a long time building that has picked up momentum lately.

“It’s definitely not a partisan issue in terms of Democrat or Republican,” he said. “It’s not right versus left. It’s the state versus you.”

About 600 people attended the group’s last meeting, Cox said. He described the crowd as “regular old Alaskans” concerned about their rights.

“There’s a lot of volatile feelings behind this issue,” he said.

He says the decision to display guns publicly is “kind of a word of mouth thing.”

“I think it will catch on pretty fast,” he added.

Cox said he’s hoping to organize a panel discussion about Second Amendment rights for the group’s next meeting March 5. He’s trying to arrange panelists ranging from law enforcement and the military to state government and the judicial branch.

WE Surround Them by Glenn Beck

February 25, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Do you watch the direction that America is being taken in and feel powerless to stop it?

Do you believe that your voice isn’t loud enough to be heard above the noise anymore?

Do you read the headlines everyday and feel an empty pit in your stomach…as if you’re completely alone?

If so, then you’ve fallen for the Wizard of Oz lie. While the voices you hear in the distance may sound intimidating, as if they surround us from all sides-the reality is very different. Once you pull the curtain away you realize that there are only a few people pressing the buttons, and their voices are weak. The truth is that they don’t surround us at all.

We surround them.

So, how do we show America what’s really behind the curtain? Below are nine simple principles. If you believe in at least seven of them, then we have something in common. I urge you to read the instructions at the end for how to help make your voice heard.

The Nine Principles

1. America is good.

2. I believe in God and He is the Center of my Life.

3. I must always try to be a more honest person than I was yesterday.

4. The family is sacred. My spouse and I are the ultimate authority, not the government.

5. If you break the law you pay the penalty. Justice is blind and no one is above it.

6. I have a right to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness, but there is no guarantee of equal results.

7. I work hard for what I have and I will share it with who I want to. Government cannot force me to be charitable.

8. It is not un-American for me to disagree with authority or to share my personal opinion.

9. The government works for me. I do not answer to them, they answer to me.

You Are Not Alone

If you agree with at least seven of those principles, then you are not alone. Please send a digital version of your picture to: wesurroundthem@foxnews.com and then stay tuned to the radio and television shows over the coming weeks to see how we intend to pull back the curtain.

12 Values

  • Honesty
  • Reverence
  • Hope
  • Thrift
  • Humility
  • Charity
  • Sincerity
  • Moderation
  • Hard Work
  • Courage
  • Personal Responsibility
  • Friendship

What are Obama’s 3 Big Lies?

February 25, 2009 · Leave a Comment

And what are his plans for destroying the GOP

Let me tell you the real reason Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid pushed through the biggest spending bill in history – without proper debate, without Republican input, and without any public scrutiny at all.

Simply, they are trying to turn the United States into a one-party country and to put the Republican Party out of business once and for all.

The massive appropriation called a stimulus – some \$787 billion of your money – is really a political war chest for the Democrats.

They want to change the face of American politics forever, and they want to use your taxpayer money to do it.

They want to use billions from our treasury to reward their political friends – and have huge amounts of cash to dole out before the 2010 and 2012 elections.

Some people have wondered why, if the country is in dire need of emergency “stimulus,” most of the money appropriated by this law will not even be spent this year.

Instead, spending will go on for five to 10 years.

There is no mystery here, as the answer is simple: These billions in taxpayer funds will fund the Democratic political machine for many years to come.

You Cannot Multiply Wealth By Dividing It.

February 25, 2009 · Leave a Comment

“You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom.  What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.  The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.  When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is about the end of any nation. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.”

Fannie Mae, Our Socialist Future, and The Left’s Double Standards

February 24, 2009 · Leave a Comment

The housing collapse wasn’t caused by greedy lenders, but by the Clinton White House and Democrats pressuring banks to underwrite loans for minorities whether they were qualified or not.

Bush and McCain began warning of problems with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac in 2002, but Barney Frank – the utterly disgraceful and unworthy head of the House Ways and Means committee – treated those warnings with contempt.

Only with the cover of the US media could he have escaped scrutiny and exposure in 2008 when the predictions of Republicans proved true. This alone should tell us the Mainstream Media are no longer to be trusted as a source of objective reporting. They are not journalists, but cheerleaders for Obama, the Democrat party, and the socialist revolution now taking place in Washington.

When the “Stimulus” Bill fails, it will all be Bush’s fault too.
