Thinning the Elk Herd In TR National Park

North Dakota Senator Byron Dorgen told the new Department of Interior Secretary Ken Salazar that hunters – not paid sharpshooters – should be allowed to reduce the elk herd at Theodore Roosevelt National Park and other national parks.

“Why on eaarth would the federal government spend money to thin the elk herd when qualified vounteers would accomplish the same result without spending a dime.”
