Obama and the Rules for Radicals

I wrote about Obama’s socialism in this post. Since then, I found a great article on Obama’s Marxism going back to his college years. When you look at the strategy and totality of Obama’s campaign and those of other radical leftists, you see a disturbing pattern:

1) They avoid directly addressing issues in detail. I heard a commercial here tonight in which Mark Warner claims that Obama has a detailed economic plan. Have you seen it? I haven’t. It’s not on his website. He keeps saying how 95% will get a tax cut. Have you seen the details of how his taxing of the makers of new jobs and capital will turn out differently than the failed tax policies of Carter? I haven’t. It isn’t on his website. No details, just fluff.

2) They (or their surrogates) ridicule their opponents. We saw the early lies the left told about Governor Palin. We see the way the left has treated Joe the Plummer. The way they have dismissed the accurate characterization of Obama as a socialist. Biden’s faux outrage at Barbara West’s interview questions, then denying what all America has heard Obama say for themselves on TV.

3) They hold their opponents to standards that the leftists themselves eschew. The most egregious case I’ve seen lately is the left’s pillorying of Mark Foley (and he was wrong) for supposedly sending suggestive messages to congressional pages. Yet, at about the same time, the same left was hailing Gerry Studds, who actually buggered his pages, as a pioneer. Yeah, in more ways than one I imagine.

I could go on, but my point is not to list them all but that the commonalities on the left aren’t coincidental. These rules come from a book written by leftist radical Saul Alinsky, Rules for Radicals. Obama came by this approach honestly, having worked as a community organizer for Jerry Kellman, an Alinsky protoge. Michelle Obama even quoted portions of Rules for Radicals in her big convention speech. Obama’s campaign has been built on Alinsky’s rules. There’s an excellent summary of the 12 rules here. I will list them briefly here so that you can see how Obama and the left has used them to promote their socialist agenda to ruin America:
