Sergeant Crowley, the police officer who arrested Professor Gates, helps the handicapped Professor down the stairs, while Obama, without regard to the infirmities of his “friend” rushes ahead to meet the White House Press Corps on his own. Who is compassionate and who is devoid of compassion? Who is so self-absorbed and arrogant that he is oblivious to those around him?

A nice comparison of the character of the two most recent Presidents. George Bush with Senator Robert Byrd:

I have always found that the way to quickly capture the moral essence of a person is to watch how they treat those who are less powerful. Do they understand that others are also human beings with feelings? Especially when they think nobody is looking.
